Lauren Brauer is the newest attorney at Barclay Law Group. She is a recent graduate of Loyola University Chicago, School of Law with a focus in child law, criminal law and advocacy. While at
Loyola, Lauren spend over a year working in the Public Defender’s officer in the Juvenile Division and on the Homicide Task Force. She also participated in the Civitas ChildLaw Clinic where she was a child representative in domestic relations cases. Lauren also has spent a considerable amount of time working with individuals to clear their criminal records through sealing or expungement.
Prior to law school Lauren was a volunteer with Americorps in the North Lawndale community of the west side of Chicago. In Americorps, she worked with 5th grade students to improve their math skills and behavior in the classroom. Lauren’s passion for the law stemmed from her work in the schools as she frequently saw the criminal justice system would have on families.
Lauren graduated from Gettysburg College in 2013 where she studied Economics. In Lauren’s free time, she volunteers for First Defense Legal Aid where she helps individuals who were arrested prior to a court appearance. She also volunteers with her local animal shelter and in the local schools. Lauren is a member of the Chicago and Women’s Bar Associations.
